Cattle Raid of the Outsiders

When you arrive at Trillium (www.trilliumgathering.org), you will receive a flat piece of wood in the shape of a small cow. Some decorations may be available, but I recommend bringing your own paint, crayons, buttons, beads, glass gems, and semi-precious stones. You may also bring cows from last year's hunt. Additional cows may be available for purchase. During the festival, if you see a cow that you wish to take, you must become an Outsider. You must dress, act, speak as an Outsider would. Once you have costumed yourself appropriately, you should announce your intent to take the cow with a speech, riddle, musical (or non-musical) instrument, poem, or song (or any other manner normal to Outsiders). The cow's owner must think and act quickly to defend their cow. The owner may give up the cow freely or make offerings as is the custom of ADF lore. An Outsider cannot accept offerings and still demand the cow. An Outsider may take only one cow per performance. Outsiders may work together for a single cow. So here is an example: let's say Jenni H. decorates one of her herd with lapis lazuli, silver paint, and a rope chain. A prize cow indeed! Kirk T. might dress himself as a miles praefectus of Rome and demand the cow for glory to his emporer. Naturally, Jenni should defend her herd and find a way to quickly dissuade the base desires of the Roman fiend. No doubt, some negotiation may be involved. In addition to the rules mentioned above, here are some more: Do not violate the law, respect the rules of the camp, and do not break the virtues of ADF.
